Um den Einsatz von Spielen im Unterricht für Jungen und Mädchen gleichermaßen nutzbringend zu gestalten, ist es daher wichtig, die Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Geschlechter, bezogen auf ihre Zugangsweise und Interessen, zu untersuchen sowie ihre unterschiedlichen Vorlieben bei der Entwicklung von Lernspielen bzw. der Verwendung von kommerziellen Spielen im Unterricht zu beachten.
Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich daher mit der Genderproblematik bei Computerspielen. In diesem Zusammenhang wird geklärt, wie sich der Aufbau von laptop- bzw. Videospielen im Allgemeinen gestaltet und welche Anreizsysteme für die Nutzung dieser Spiele vorhanden sein können. Darüber hinaus wird auf die so genannte Genderproblematik an sich eingegangen und untersucht, welche Genderdarstellungen in laptop- und Videospielen vorherrschend sind. Zum Abschluss wird ausgehend vom unterschiedlichen Spielverhalten von Mädchen und Jungen gezeigt, aus welchen Gründen diese Unterschiede zustande kommen können und wie von dem Wissen über die ungleichen Nutzungsgewohnheiten der beiden Geschlechter beim Einsatz von computerbasierten Lernarrangements für Jugendliche profitiert werden kann.
